All of us go through all good and bad things in life

There is a nine-year-old kid sitting at his desk and all of a sudden, there is a puddle between his feet and the front of his pants are wet.
He thinks his heart is going to stop because he cannot possibly imagine how this has happened. It’s never happened before, and he knows that when the boys find out he will never hear the end of it..
When the girls find out, they’ll never speak to him again as long as he lives. The boy believes his heart is going to stop; he puts his head down and prays this prayer, “Dear God, this is an emergency! I need help now! Five minutes from now I’m dead meat.” He looks up from his prayer and here comes the teacher with a look in her eyes that says he has been discovered.
As the teacher is walking toward him, a classmate named Susie is carrying a goldfish bowl that is filled with water. Susie trips in front of the teacher and inexplicably dumps the bowl of water in the boy’s lap.
The boy pretends to be angry, but all the while is saying to himself, “Thank you, Lord! Thank you, Lord!”
Now all of a sudden, instead of being the object of ridicule, the boy is the object of sympathy. The teacher rushes him downstairs and gives him gym shorts to put on while his pants dry out.
All the other children are on their hands and knees cleaning up around his desk. The sympathy is wonderful. But as life would have it, the ridicule that should have been his has been transferred to someone else – Susie. She tries to help, but they tell her to get out. “You’ve done enough, you klutz!”
Finally, at the end of the day, as they are waiting for the bus, the boy walks over to Susie and whispers, “You did that on purpose, didn’t you?”
Susie whispers back, “I wet my pants once too.”
Moral: All of us go through all good and bad things in life. We should always remember how we felt when we were in same condition and should not mock others for being in it. Always try to understand their situation as if you are in it and help much as possible praying to god that today you are in a condition to help someone who needs it.

Value of Integrity

A successful business man was growing old and knew it was time to choose a successor to take over the business.

Instead of choosing one of his Directors or his children, he decided to do something different. He called all the young executives in his company together.

He said, “It is time for me to step down and choose the next CEO. I have decided to choose one of you..”

The young executives were Shocked, but the boss continued. “I am going to give each one of you a SEED today – one very special SEED… I want you to plant the seed, water it, and come back here one year from today with what you have grown from the seed I have given you. I will then judge the plants that you bring, and the one I choose will be the next CEO.”

One man, named Jim, was there that day and he, like the others, received a seed. He went home and excitedly, told his wife the story. She helped him get a pot, soil and compost and he planted the seed. Everyday, he would water it and watch to see if it had grown. After about three weeks, some of the other executives began to talk about their seeds and the plants that were beginning to grow.

Jim kept checking his seed, but nothing ever grew.

Three weeks, four weeks, five weeks went by, still nothing.

By now, others were talking about their plants, but Jim didn’t have a plant and he felt like a failure.

Six months went by — still nothing in Jim’s pot. He just knew he had killed his seed. Everyone else had trees and tall plants, but he had nothing. Jim didn’t say anything to his colleagues, however.

He just kept watering and fertilizing the soil – He so wanted the seed to grow.

A year finally went by and all the young executives of the company brought their plants to the CEO for inspection.

Jim told his wife that he wasn’t going to take an empty pot. But she asked him to be honest about what happened. Jim felt sick to his stomach, it was going to be the most embarrassing moment of his life, but he knew his wife was right. He took his empty pot to the board room. When Jim arrived, he was amazed at the variety of plants grown by the other executives. They were beautiful — in all shapes and sizes. Jim put his empty pot on the floor and many of his colleagues laughed, a few felt sorry for him!

When the CEO arrived, he surveyed the room and greeted his young executives.

Jim just tried to hide in the back. “My, what great plants, trees, and flowers you have grown,” said the CEO. “Today one of you will be appointed the next CEO!”

All of a sudden, the CEO spotted Jim at the back of the room with his empty pot. He ordered the Financial Director to bring him to the front. Jim was terrified. He thought, “The CEO knows I’m a failure! Maybe he will have me fired!”

When Jim got to the front, the CEO asked him what had happened to his seed – Jim told him the story.

The CEO asked everyone to sit down except Jim. He looked at Jim, and then announced to the young executives, “Behold your next Chief Executive Officer!

His name is Jim!” Jim couldn’t believe it. Jim couldn’t even grow his seed.

“How could he be the new CEO?” the others said.

Then the CEO said, “One year ago today, I gave everyone in this room a seed. I told you to take the seed, plant it, water it, and bring it back to me today. But I gave you all boiled seeds; they were dead – it was not possible for them to grow.

All of you, except Jim, have brought me trees and plants and flowers. When you found that the seed would not grow, you substituted another seed for the one I gave you. Jim was the only one with the courage and honesty to bring me a pot with my seed in it. Therefore, he is the one who will be the new Chief Executive Officer!”

* If you plant honesty, you will reap trust
* If you plant goodness, you will reap friends
* If you plant humility, you will reap greatness
* If you plant perseverance, you will reap contentment
* If you plant consideration, you will reap perspective
* If you plant hard work, you will reap success
* If you plant forgiveness, you will reap reconciliation
* If you plant faith in God, you will reap a harvest

So, be careful what you plant now; it will determine what you will reap later.

How to keep your room cool without AC?

Summer has arrived and my bedroom is so hot that I cannot sleep at night. I bought a table fan, did some R&D based on the internet blogs, but nothing worked out. Buying air conditioner was the only way out. Then I did some research on various type of air conditioners like 5 star acs in various brands like Voltas, Bluestar, etc. I thought of it as an one time investment ranging from Rs 35,000 to Rs.45,000. Then, I started analyzing the current consumption of the air conditioners. It was a big shock to me. Because all the house owners in our area including our house owner is collecting a charge of Rs.5 per Unit of electricity. So if I buy an AC then I have to pay Rs.1500 to Rs.2000 extra to electricity bill each and every month. This will become a permanent expense. So I dropped this idea. Then I continued my research on internet looking for other alternate "inexpensive" ways. I am a very stingy guy you know, so I always look out for cheap ways :) . At last I came across a solution. The solution is a simple thermodynamics logic that we had learnt in our school days. The logic is very simple, if the temperature of inside area is less and outside area is high, then hot air will come inside automatically to compensate the temperature. This is applicable for the opposite scenario as well. However this is a slow process. So I thought of a way to speed up this process and I found a really good way to do this.

When I bought a table fan I was keeping it near open windows so that it can pull the cool outside air inside. I tried it for a lot of days, but it did not work out as expected. Then I tried a different thing with my table fan. I locked the room door, kept the fan facing outward toward the windows so that all the air will blow out through the windows. I kept the fan at full speed running for half an hour. Imagine what had happened after half an hour. I entered my room from the hall, and you know there was so much temperature difference between my hall and room. The room was cool like my roof terrace. Awesome right!! The logic is very simple. My fan acted as an exhaust fan pushing all the hot air outside, so outside cool air rushed inside my room to level the temperature. Cool right!! I just tried this yesterday and it is working like a charm and I had a very good sleep. Give a try guys and you will be amazed by the result. And one last important thing, your room temperature will become even with outside temperature. If you want below 24 degree, then you should go air conditioner only :p

I am very stingy guy with money, so this is an excellent and natural way of cooling for me :) If you like this post and tried it out, Please like and share!!

Travel tips - Oslo, Norway

Norway is not part of the European Union. They are part of the schengen zone though. Okay, let's get right to the notes on Oslo.

Language:
English is widely spoken in Oslo – at shops, bus drivers, train stations, restaurants and people in general can speak in English.

At the airport:
When you come out of the green channel door at Oslo airport (Gardermoen), walk to the right. You will see a booth on the left called “Public Transport”. You will see a person with “Ruter” on his/her shirt / t-shirt. Ask for a 1 week travel card for Zone 1. It costs 230 NOK. It is valid on buses, trains and trams.

Then if you continue walking straight ahead you will reach the entrance to the Train station. Once you have a 1 week travel card, you get a discount on the Airport-to-City train fare. You have two types of trains to get to the city center. Please note the names of Oslo city center – Jernbanetorget / Oslo S /Oslo Sentralstasjon – you could see any one of these names.

The NSB trains cost 90 NOK to the city center (60 NOKs with the 1 week travel card). NSB trains ply every 20 to 30 minutes and takes 23 minutes to get to the city center. Flytoget trains ply every 10 minutes and cost double than NSB. Buy an NSB ticket using one of the ticketing machines at the entrance to the train station. Remember to click the British flag to see the screen in English. On the ticketing machine, place your Travel Card on the panel for it, enter your destination as Oslo S (Sentralstasjon), insert your payment card, wait for some time for it to recognize the payment card, it will ask you to enter the pin and press OK, do it, it will ask you to take out the payment card, do it, and then wait till it adds the trip to the Travel Card. It will tell you what it is doing in the form of messages on the screen. It will also give you a paper receipt for the 60 NOKs. Take out your travel card. The ticket checker on the train will ask to see your travel card, he will insert it into a handheld device to validate the trip. He does not check the paper receipt for the 60 NOKs.

At Oslo S, from the platform you have to walk up a ramp (or get on an escalator) to come to the main area of the train station. Walk towards the Karl Johans Gate exit. You will come to a large square outside the main door of the Oslo S. Towards your north-east you will see a tram stop. Take the 17 or 18 tram to get off at Bislett. If you stay at Parkveien, get off at the stop called Frydenlund.

Towards your south-east you will have a bus stop for bus number 37. All bus stops will show which bus numbers stop there. Bus 37 takes you to Collets Gate (if you stay on Louises Gate, this is the stop for you). Bus 37 will also take you to the TCS office at Nydalen. This is the last stop on Bus 37.

SIM cards:
Pick up Lyca SIM cards at any convenience store such as 7 Eleven, Narvessen etc. While you could buy it from a convenience store at the airport, even if you forget, don't worry. They will take a copy of your passport. Convenience stores are all over the city. Ask them to register the SIM card for you, which means, they will have to send out your details to the provider. If you try to do it yourself by sending the provider an email with your details, it may or may not get activated - I have faced problems with that option with multiple follow up calls post that email.

Where to stay:
We use serviced apartments from The Apartments Company, http://www.theapartmentscompany.no/ One bedroom apartments are in the range of 600 to 800 NOK per day. They have apartments in the areas of Bislett and Parkveien, which I have referred to above, and are convenient locations. Expect hotels to be packed in July, so book ahead.

Public transport in Oslo:
Check the website https://ruter.no/en/ for all public transport routes. Use the English language option on the website. Purchase the 1 week travel card as explained above.

Shopping:
There is at least one grocery shop within a 1 KM radius anywhere in Oslo. It could be a 7 Eleven, Kiwi, Rimi, Narvessen, Coop. You can get onions, tomatoes, fruits, milk, bread, butter and eggs there.

For high street shopping head to Karl Johans Gate, which is a street close to Oslo S (Sentralstasjon). “Oslo City” mall is good too, and is across the Oslo S (Sentralstasjon)

There is a decent mall called Storo near the TCS office at Nydalen

Tips / lessons learnt:
When cooking open the windows and also switch on the exhaust over the stove. If the fire alarm goes off, ensure that the windows are open and the exhaust is running, and wait for some time and hope that it turns off. If it does not turn off, the fire service will come over and turn off the alarm. They will charge 6000 NOK for this service.

If you keep the cooking stove on for a long time, it has a safety mechanism because of which it will beep. There will be a small button on the wall near the stove. You need to press that button and the sound will stop. This is to check if there is anyone in the house. If you do not press the button, it will switch off the electric supply to the stove. You will not be able to switch on the stove. To restore electric supply to the stove, press and hold that button for 3 seconds.

In the bathroom, if you keep the hot water tap running continuously for a long time, say more than 20 minutes, it will cut off the hot water supply. You will have to wait for one hour to restore hot water again.

Buy your alcohol at the Oslo duty free – it is cheaper than Doha, Dubai and Copenhagen

Dosai:
There is a Sri Lankan Tamil restaurant called Palmyra café at Gronland. Take the train from Oslo S to Gronland. Then take the exit towards Politihuset

Enjoy your stay at Oslo ! And please do share your notes and tips for cities you have been to.

What kite are you flying?

Neha was very upset because her little sister spilled water on her science project. And, this was not the first time that her sister had spoiled her school work. Therefore, Neha requested her parents to buy her a study table with drawers where she could safely keep her books.
Neha's parents could not afford to buy a brand new table. However, they agreed to buy her a table from a second-hand furniture store. One day after school, Neha's mother took her to the second-hand furniture store, so that she could buy the table of her choice. Though, there were not many choices in that store, Neha pretended to look around.
She casually opened a drawer of an old black table. And, guess what did she find? A small transparent plastic bag with some rupee notes.
"Maybe I have found somebody's secret stuff. Am I the luckiest twelve-year old? My birthday is approaching. With this money, I can buy myself great presents…. maybe a bicycle, stationery, dresses..... and maybe I can even buy things for my family", Neha thought. She was overcome with greed and quickly slipped that bag to the end of the drawer.
She went to her mother and told her that she wanted to buy that black table. Neha's mother told her that the table looked too old and she should look for something better. "No, I like this one. I will paint it and glue some stickers on it to make it look better", Neha insisted. She was feeling scared from inside but her greed prompted her to lie.
Neha could not wait until everybody left after the table was organized in the room. She locked the room, quickly opened the drawer and took the plastic bag with rupee notes out. She found a paper along with that money. It seemed that some old lady was saving money for her children and grandchildren. Neha began counting the money. She could hear her loud heart beat when she finally reached a count of twelve thousand rupees.
But now, with the money she had, she thought that she would have to make up many lies to spend that money. She would have to hide the money all the time and was already feeling scared. She thought, "This money is not meant for me. The old lady had been saving this money for her family. She must have passed away and nobody would have known about the money in the drawer. Therefore, the family would have sold it to the second-hand furniture store."

Hyperloop high-speed transport system proposed for 5 Indian routes

Hyperloop Oone, the futuristic tube-based high-speed transportation system, has announced 35 teams from all over the world to actualise the potential of the system in different regions – with one of them being India. If the system finds its way to India, we could potentially see distances like Delhi-Mumbai (~1200 kilometers) being covered in less than one hour.
So we can travel at speeds close to 1200 km/h. It is projected as the fastest way to travel between two places.

NASA Has Found A New Solar System With 7 Earth-Size Planets

stronomers have found a nearby solar system with seven Earth-sized planets, three of which circle their parent star at the right distance for liquid surface water, raising the prospect of life, research published on Wednesday showed. The star, known as TRAPPIST-1, is a small, dim celestial body in the constellation Aquarius. It is located about 40 light years away from Earth.

Maha Shivratri

A rich man had a garden and two gardeners. One of these gardeners was very lazy and did not work. But when the owner came to the garden, the lazy man would get up and fold his arms and say, "How beautiful is the face of my master", and dance before him.

The other gardener would not talk much, but would work hard, and produce all sorts of fruits and vegetables which he would carry on his head to his master who lived a long way off. Of these two gardeners, which would be the more beloved of his master?

Shiva is that master, and this world is His garden, and there are two sorts of gardeners here - the one who is lazy, hypocritical, and does nothing, only talking about Shiva's beautiful eyes and nose and other features; and the other, who is taking care of Shiva's children, all those that are poor and weak, all animals, and all His creation.

Image description not specified.

Which of these would be the more beloved of Shiva? Certainly he that serves His children. He who wants to serve the father must serve the children first. He who wants to serve Shiva must serve His children — must serve all creatures in this world first.

He who sees Shiva in the poor, in the weak, and in the diseased, really worships Shiva and if he sees Shiva only in the image, his worship is but preliminary. He who has served and helped one poor man seeing Shiva in him, without thinking of his caste, or creed, or race, or anything, with him Shiva is more pleased than with the man who sees Him only in temples.

What is Republic?

We are all acclimatized with the word Republic. We used to consume this word through various sources like books, posters, speeches etc.Republic is such a thing that we can only grasp or apprehend which is applicable irrespective of every sectors of our life.Republic makes a free space or way which acts as a medium to define the concept of Freedom,Liberty and Opportunity. Incidentally despite of learning lots of ideas about all those things,we don't have the time and mindset to exercise them properly. And, then the crisis of Republic comes into the picture in our real life.In each corner of the Earth, there is a creation and also a recreation is happening in every second & the reason behind that is only the perception of freedom.Freedom in thinking, freedom in work, freedom in speech, freedom in every activity and this is not possible without the legitimate and fitting opportunity.Organization is also an object or a body which is undergoing through a creation and recreation process everyday & this process runs evenly only because that the particular organization gives the contingency to its associates a big space where they can work out the theory of Republic.Free space to think and free space to speech always actualize an ambiance of positiveness where the associates can nurture their talent and skills spontaneously which comes out as a great success of that organization.Be a Republican, not in terms of politics but as a believer of Republic.

Reboot your machine.

When was the last time you saw somebody using personal computer with Windows XP running on it? Decade ago ? Maybe. In the recent times, I vacationed at remote towns in the country, one fine morning, I was at hotel to buy breakfast (takeaway) as I decided to have breakfast in the room itself. I placed my order & I received my counterfoils to hand it over at the takeaway counter. I walked up to the counter, and the man himself at the counter was busy fiddling with ethernet cable(a network cable). It was a CRT monitor with Windows XP running on it,I just glanced at the monitor, network disconnected error messages were popping up intermittently.

By then I understood why he was plugging the cable in & out. He had enough trials on it. Further he looked clueless about the network issue. He needed to launch inhouse portal to enter the data of takeaway items for tracking. It did seem to me like I may not get my parcel If this issue doesn't get resolved, I just asked, can I take a look at the problem once?,he just smiled at me & said OK. I bent down to scan the rear section of CPU and plugged out & in the network cable once to check if that solves the problem, but it didn't.

Network port seemed fine to me. I'm always under the impression that if something goes wrong inside the computer, it can be fixed by a reboot and mostly it works and can't guess why in particular apart from the basic reasons like bringing the system to its original state & resetting all over. Keeping this in mind, I suggested him to reboot it, but he was busy speaking to somebody in the kitchen to get the food ready for the customers, so he asked me to go and take the control to fix the problem. I did a reboot of the system considering it as a only viable option then. Reboot just alleviated the problem. The error messages seemed to disappeared. He smiled & thanked me. Later he began to enter the data on the system.

It would be so nice if we have solutions like reboot in life as well for all the problems that we encounter. :)

How you see is what you get

Not everyone is naturally optimistic. Some people are born seeing the glass half empty rather than half full. But no matter what your natural bent is, you can become a more optimistic person.
How do cultivate optimism? Please learn to become positive people with great attitude. Then no matter what happens to you, you can weather the storm and build on the good you find in any situation.
Contentment is not a popular concept. Our culture actually discourages the idea. People are continually bombarded with this message, what you have is not enough. You need more - a bigger house, a better car, etc. but the truth is possessing healthy contentment, which is essential to able to withstand failure.

11 Benefits of UPI | How UPI is Better Method of Fund Transfer !

The new way of money transfer, The UPI has many benefits over the existing payment methods. Because of its obvious benefits, the experts consider it a revolutionary innovation. In RBI governor Raghuram Rajan’s word, The UPI is whatsapp moment for banking. UPI is one of the most advanced method among all the digital payments.
The UPI is a payment mechanism which allows instant money transfer without the bank details. Instead of bank account number and IFSC code, the virtual payment address is used to pay through the UPI. Let us explore the benefits of UPI.
11 Benefits of UPI

1. Cheapest Way of Money Transfer

The UPI is the cheapest method of fund transfer. The NEFT charges minimum Rs 2.5 for a transfer, the IMPS charges minimum Rs 5. But the UPI charges too less to believe. It costs less than 50 paise for a transaction through the UPI.
Becuase of this low cost, the UPI has the potential to promote the non cash transactions of small amounts.

2. It Makes you Free from Cash

There are many ways of transactions which has decreased the cash transactions. The card payment, net banking and mobile wallets are widely used. However, we rarely use the card or netbanking for small transactions such as payment to your neighborhood grocery or payment to a vegetable vendor. In fact, it is not feasible for the consumer as well as the shopkeeper.
But, the UPI makes small transactions feasible. The smooth and low cost transaction had made it feasible for small shopkeeper and consumer as well. Once, you start using the UPI, you need less visits to the ATM.

3. No Need to Give Details

Most of us avoid using online transaction and card payment because it ask for the bank account details. For card transaction, you give card number, validity period and CVV number. Whereas net banking transaction expose your bank account details. For this reason, the card and online payment is not as much popular. People still prefer cash.
But the UPI solves this problem. The payment through the UPI does not require the card details or bank account details. You have to only give the virtual payment address. the virtual payment address is similar to our email ID. e. gRamesh45@icicibank, 9876543210@axis. It is easy to remember this ID.

4. More Secure

Not everyone uses the card for payment. Not everyone uses the netbanking for the online payment. People are reluctant to use the non cash methods because of the security concern.
What if someone overlooks your PIN while you punch it at the POS terminal. What if the website steal your credit card data and use it for the international transaction.
The UPI has minimized this concern. Actually It is more secure than the present mode of transaction. In the transaction through the UPI, you never share you bank account details. You do not enter your credit card number or CVV. You only give a virtual payment address which does not give any clue about your bank account.
Also the authentication takes place at your smartphone. It is done by punching the two different PINs. You can easily make it discrete while typing at your smartphone.

5. Instant Transfer

The UPI is based on IMPS platform. Thus It works 24 x7. You can make payment any time. There is no restriction of holiday or odd hours. The bank strike will also not affect the UPI payments.

6. One UPI App Many Accounts

After the UPI mobile app, you do not need multiple apps for multiple bank account. A single UPI would serve for many bank accounts. You can link many bank accounts in a UPI based app.
Because of the multiple accounts at one place, you can pay by using any of the account. You can also set the default account for the payment.

5. Choose Any UPI App

You also get liberty to choose any UPI based app from the google play store. It is not mandatory to use the App promoted by your bank. Your bank account may be with the ICICI Bank, but you can use the UPI app of the axis bank.
Before using an app, check carefully the interface and ease. Also, use those app which gives you desired Virtual payment address.
Note, with the change of App you have to get a new VPA, thus it is not advisable to change it frequently.

6. Immediate Registration of Payee

The registration of new payee for the online fund transfer takes some time. This time varies form half an hour to 24 hours. However, the UPI doesn’t have such waiting period. You can instantly transfer fund to a new payee.

7. Money Collection Facility

If you have given a service or product to someone and want the payment, what would be way to ask for the money? You will send a person or make a call.
You would agree that getting money from a party is always tough. There can be numerous excuses. But, the UPI would give more power in the hands of biller and It would not be easy for the client to give excuses.
The money collection facility of the UPI sends a message directly to the party. This message is sent via the bank. It only asks approval for the payment. If the client approves, the money would be remitted instantly. If the client does not approve, it means he/she does not want to pay. Now the biller can deal it differently.

8. Avail COD Without Paying Cash

We love online shopping till it does not ask money upfront. That is why 80% people opt for cash on delivery. The apprehension is simple, what if I do not get delivery. What if I get a packet of stone instead of the mobile phone. So, why take risks, go for the cash on delivery.
However, sometimes, you don’t have enough cash at your home. If it is a big purchase, you have to rush to the ATM before the delivery boy comes. The UPI ends this hassle.
You can go for the cash on delivery but you are not required to keep cash at your home. You can pay it instantly using the UPI fund transfer.
The Online seller would use the fund collection facility of UPI. Subsequently, You would get a message for the payment approval. You can hold the approval till the delivery. As you get the product, Approve the payment. The delivery boy would get the message immediately of the payment. The cash on delivery is done without using the cash. In actual sense, It is pay on delivery.

9. Cheaper Alternative of POS Machine

It is difficult to pay through the card in small cities. Most of the merchants don’t have the card swiping machine. Let me tell you that this machine is called as the POS terminal.
So, small merchant don’t keep POS terminal because it is costly. They have to pay for the machine. Along with this they have to pay the service charge for each transaction. It varies from 1.25% to 2.5% of the transaction value.
You would have also faced the situation when vendor ask the service charge from you. It happens in a competitive market. In fact keeping POS terminal is not very beneficial for small traders.
But, UPI would do the same work with negligible cost. AS UPI operates through the smartphone, anyone can collect money without spending for the machine. Also, the transaction cost is mere 50 paise, It is very low compared to the POS terminal.

11. UPI would Replace Many Digital Wallets

Digital wallet has eased the online payments. The mobile recharge, rail tickets, online shopping has become very smooth because of the digital wallets. But the number of such wallets are increasing. Paytm, Freecharge, Flipkart and IRCTC, Everyone want you to keep the digital wallet. So it become hassle to maintain more than one wallet.
The UPI would end this hassle as well. The payment through the UPI is as easy as payment through the wallets. But a single app is enough to pay anywhere. Also, the UPI does not ask money in advance. Rather, your money remains in the bank account and keeps earning the interest. Digital wallets don’t give any interest.

I hope this info will be helpful.

Are we not consciously unconscious?

Food, water, air and sleep – four essential elements for survival and happiness.

Barring smokers who pay for inhaling impure air, Thank God, pure air is free so far!

Everything else costs something…

We pay the most for food, but most of us still eat more than our body needs!

Water is comparatively cheaper; close to free if not particular about bottled water, yet most of us stay dehydrated!

Sleep is absolutely free. But most of us live sleep starved!

Sometimes consciously we are unconscious about most obvious things around us!

You agree?

Sundar Pichai finally receives Distinguished Alumnus Award in person

Google CEO Sundar Pichai, who was conferred with the Distinguished Alumnus Award by IIT Kharagpur in 2015, was finally able to receive the award in person at his alma mater, nearly two years later, on Thursday.

"Sundar Pichai was conferred his Distinguished Alumnus Award in the Board Room of IIT Kharagpur on January 5, 2017. The award was given to him at the 2015 convocation but he was unable to come and receive it in person at that time," IIT director PP Chakrabarti said in a Facebook post late Thursday.
He visited his old hostel Nehru Hall, went to his old room, common room, mess, library, catwalk and refreshed his memories, Chakrabarti said.
